🇭🇺 Hungary’s political landscape could be changing.
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, who has led Hungary since 2010, faces a new political challenger , Péter Magyar ,ahead of the 2026 parliamentary elections.
Recent polls show growing support for Magyar’s movement, while government-aligned institutes report continued support for Orbán’s party. The upcoming election may play an important role in shaping Hungary’s political direction and its relationship with the European Union.

🇭🇺 One of the most exciting elections in Europe this year is happening in Hungary. As a Hungary-based youth NGO, we felt responsible for introducing you to the key topics surrounding this event.
Whether you’re Hungarian or simply interested in European politics, this is a great opportunity to explore how the Hungarian election works, what’s at stake, and why it matters, not just nationally, but at the European level too 🇪🇺
Over the next weeks, we’ll break down everything you need to know, so stay curious and check out our websites 💚💚
Between the 26th and 30th of November our project, co-organized with @jef_berlin_brandenburg and @jeuneseuropeens_paris took place in the cities of Budapest and Pécs. 🇩🇪 🇫🇷 🇭🇺
It was an honor to welcome around 20 participants from both Germany and France. The main aim of this project was to show the participants how Hungarian politics and civil society works, and to strenghten the ties between our networks. 🤝
We had the chance to meet and talk to representatives of the European Commission and Parliament Liaison Office in Budapest, as well as to get to know the Robert Schuman Institute and the Magyar Természetvédők Szövetsége / Friends of the Earth Hungary Association. 💚
During our daytrip to Pécs, we played a scavenger hunt, and had a panel discussion co-organized with and hosted by @head.pte , to whom we are grateful for the amazing opportunity and cooperation. 🙌
Looking forward to more joint projects and co-organized event with JEF Berlin, Paris and HEAD PTE. 😄
For our last monthly meeting of 2025, we’re doing something special! 💚
This Thursday at 18:30, we will be viewing a documentary on European migration policy, focusing on border management, EU–third country cooperation, and the political tensions behind a “Fortress Europe.”
Right after the viewing, we’ll launch into an open, informal debate, where everyone can share their takeaways, perspectives, and reflect on the documentary’s claims.
Join us for an engaging session at CEU, Nador 15 building! ✨💬💚
